I am Jeff Barr, Senior Web Services Evangelist for the Amazon Web Services. I have been working with computers since 1977, and have done all sorts of interesting things in the last 30 years. I have been paid to write code in five different assembly languages (IBM-360, 6502, Z-80, 8086, and 68000) and many different higher-level languages including PL/I, BASIC, FORTRAN, C, C++, C#, Perl, Java, and PHP.

At present I am interested in programmable web sites (via web services), presentation styles and techniques, and emerging virtual worlds such as Second Life (where I am known as Jeffronius Batra).

I like to build things with code or with more tangible materials such as wire, resistors, LEDs, or steel.
