Making it even better?

Some thoughts on how to make this even better:

1. Better camera work - the camera being pointed at the podium means that I have lost the the speaker from time time
2. Audio - generally really good - but the panel discussions and audiene questions were not so easy to hear at times - where are the microphones, BTW?
3. Lighting - Good lighting on the speaker at the podium - but again the panel discussions were poorly lit.

But all in all, a very welcome add on to the conference

I agree with all your points. In fairness we wanted a fairly lightweight approach: no cameraman, no insistence on speakers staying put, and no insistence on contributors speaking to the mikes, etc. For a more professional conference I think they would pay to have staff in-room to shift cameras, dish out mikes, adjust lighting, etc - but this was a first attempt.

On reflection I think it would have been possible and very useful to at least ensure the sound was ok from all parts of the room. Passing mikes around is good for everyone, even those attending, and is fairly standard practice. We'll learn that for next time. Do you find this valuable?
